Suttons Stairlifts Ltd

Stairlift Servicing

Rodney Male
“We received the name of Suttons Stairlifts by recommendations from a friend, and they were as our friend told us. Nothing was too much trouble for all the staff who attended and fitted the lift. We would highly recommend them, many thanks.”
Dawn Waterfield
“Excellent service with friendly staff. Very user-friendly assessment and nothing was too much trouble. We highly recommend this company.”
C. Hayward
“Absolutely delighted with this company. I broke my hip and whilst I was in hospital my daughter contacted Sutton Stairlifts. They came to the property, which has a longer-than-average staircase and advised us on the type of stairlift to suit my needs. They installed a refurbished stairlift promptly and efficiently. The engineers were knowledgeable, polite and reassuring.”
Julie Morey
“A very prompt excellent service. Thank you, Max, for the speedy help in getting my elderly aunt’s stairlift working straight away. Many thanks. A1 company.”
Dom Russell
“Sutton Stairlifts were extremely helpful and I would certainly recommend you give them a call. They offered great advice, and a number of options - without any hard sell, and went the extra mile to help us. They managed to attend to the site to install it within a couple of days of my initial call. Good, old-fashioned customer service.”

Stairlift Servicing

Servicing is Vital for Stairlift Reliability

Your stairlift gets a lot of wear and tear, carrying you up and down stairs several times a day. When you have a stairlift you quickly come to depend on it and it’s worrying if you can’t be sure it is 100% reliable, and there when you need it.

There’s no need to stress about your stairlift if you keep it well maintained with a regular service and safety check – at least every 12 months.

The older a stairlift is, and the more it is used, the more likely it is to break down simply due to parts and components wearing out.

Rather than waiting until your stairlift comes to a standstill or develops a serious issue before you call for professional help – and possibly face an expensive repair – its preferable to schedule regular services to keep it healthy and happy.

What a Stairlift Service Involves

Suttons Stairlifts’ fully trained stairlift technicians work across Somerset, Wiltshire, Dorset and Devon, installing and maintaining stairlifts. We carry out regular annual servicing and safety checks of your straight, curved, reconditioned or rental stairlifts.

We carry out a comprehensive service, cleaning and checking all necessary parts, for example the electrics, as well as all safety features, safety edges and fixing bolts. We also check the condition of the stairlift motor for wear and tear. This way we can pick up on any potential problems and prevent them from worsening.

A stairlift service doesn’t take long to perform – around half an hour in most cases – and can be scheduled at a date and time to suit you, so you can choose an occasion when you won’t be too inconvenienced by being unable to use your stairlift for a short while.

Having your stairlift serviced and keeping it in good condition is a wise investment in the welfare of a piece of machinery that you depend on to move independently around your home.

Caring for a Stairlift

In-between services there are some measures you can follow yourself to take care of your stairlift.

  • Make sure you use it only for the purpose it is intended, the way it is meant to be used.
  • Keep the rails as dust-free as possible by using a vacuum cleaner or wiping with a dry cloth once a week.
  • Keep the rails clear of obstacles (including pets) that may be blocking the lift as it travels up or down stairs.
  • Don’t let children play with the lift and tamper with the controls.
  • Don’t exceed the maximum weight limit of your stairlift.

If you need any help or advice regarding stairlift servicing, safety checks and maintenance, or indeed if your stairlift breaks down, Suttons Stairlifts is ready, willing and able to assist you.
