Somerset Stairlifts
Our wonderful home county of Somerset is a magnet for retirees, and no wonder with its beautiful, largely rural small towns and villages set in lovely countryside.
The population of Somerset is ageing – its predicted that by 2036 a third of all Somerset residents will be over 65. That’s why we’re kept so busy in the county, installing stairlifts in Somerset to help the elderly stay independent in their own homes.
Of course, it’s not only older people who experience mobility problems in Somerset which cause them to struggle with the stairs. There are people of all ages who for one reason or another have difficulty climbing stairs. In some cases, the upper storey of their own homes becomes, sadly, inaccessible.
Here at Suttons Stairlifts, with our headquarters in the Somerset market town of Shepton Mallet, we are an independent company. Our team of experienced stairlift engineers work across the county, installing new, reconditioned and rental stairlifts, providing a top class stairlift maintenance service, and removing stairlifts that are no longer needed.
We fit and service stairlifts across Somerset, from Frome to Weston Super Mare, Minehead to Glastonbury, Wincanton to Chard, Bridgwater to Langport and everywhere inbetween.
Stairlifts to Suit All Somerset Staircases
We can install stairlifts in Somerset on just about any size or shape of staircase, straight or curved, long or short, no matter how many flights of stairs you have.
Having a stairlift fitted in Somerset will probably cost less than you think. All you have to do if you think a stairlift would change your life for the better is get in touch with us to arrange a free consultation, during which we’ll measure your staircase and provide you with a quotation for either buying your own new or refurbished stairlift, or renting one long or short-term.
There’s no obligation. We are dead set against pressure selling stairlifts to anyone. In fact, that is how company founder Mark Sutton came to set up the business: he was annoyed by the way his father was pressured by a large national stairlift company and vowed to offer a reliable, honest and compassionate local stairlift business in Somerset.
On Mark’s retirement in 2022 he passed the reins of the company to his Chief Engineer, Max Spenn, who has continued to build the business. With Max in the driving seat the business is scaling new heights, never losing sight of its ethos of honesty, reliability and integrity.
Rent a Stairlift in Somerset
We install new stairlifts in Somerset from the market-leading Handicare range, which we favour because they are battery-powered, prioritise safety features and are relatively quick and easy to fit without impacting on the infrastructure of a staircase.
Handicare stairlifts also come in a wide choice of customisable models, from a simple low-cost option to the top of the range with numerous luxury features.
If you prefer to buy a refurbished stairlift we will have a suitable one for your home, but if you don’t foresee needing a stairlift indefinitely you can rent one from us on a short or long-term basis.
Once you have a stairlift you can depend on us to make any emergency repairs that may be required promptly and professionally. We also undertake regular stairlift servicing in Somerset and if you take advantage of this service it will ensure you don’t have unexpected breakdowns, and your stairlift’s life will be maximised.
When the time comes for a stairlift to be removed in Somerset, we’ll remove it quickly and neatly.
