Independent Stairlift Installation Across BA6
Glastonbury is unlike most Somerset towns.
The streets are older. The homes are more varied. Staircases inside many BA6 properties were never designed with reduced mobility in mind.
That becomes obvious after surgery, illness, arthritis or balance problems begin affecting everyday movement.
Suttons Stairlifts helps residents across Glastonbury continue living comfortably at home with professionally installed stairlift systems for straight and curved staircases.
We are an independent company serving North
Somerset with a strong focus on honest advice, reliable workmanship and
personal customer care.
That approach is not accidental.
Suttons Stairlifts was originally founded
after Mark Sutton had an unpleasant experience with a national stairlift
company while trying to arrange mobility support for his father. The aggressive
sales approach felt completely wrong.
So he built a company around doing the
opposite.
On Mark’s retirement in 2022 he passed the
reins of the company to his Chief Engineer, Max Spenn, who has continued to
build the business. With Max in the driving seat the business is scaling new
heights, never losing sight of its ethos of honesty, reliability and integrity.
No pressure. No hard sell. No confusing
jargon.

Curved Stairlifts for Older Somerset Properties
Period properties around Glastonbury often require curved stairlift systems.
Curved stairlifts are built specifically around the staircase dimensions to create smooth, safe movement around corners and directional changes.
They are ideal for:
- Victorian homes
- Split-level properties
- Tight staircase turns
- Multi-landing staircases
Every rail is measured individually during the survey.
Reconditioned Stairlifts in Glastonbury
Not everybody needs a brand-new stairlift. Our professionally refurbished stairlifts provide reliable mobility support at a lower overall cost.
Reconditioned stairlifts include:
- Full servicing
- Safety inspections
- Professional installation
- One-year warranty cover
Refurbished prices depend upon stock and also the size and shape of the stairs as we always endeavour to provide the most reasonable cost.
Stairlift Rental For Straight Stairlfits
Temporary mobility challenges are extremely common.
People recovering from:
- Hip surgery
- Knee replacements
- Falls
- Illness
- Rehabilitation treatment
often only need stairlift support for a limited period.
Straight stairlift rental starts from £55 per month plus an installation fee of £495 which covers the first month’s rental, repairs, annual servicing and removal when no longer needed. A minimum term of 3 months applies.
Installation and eventual removal are handled by our local engineers.
Stairlift Repairs & Servicing
A stairlift is daily-use mobility equipment.
Routine servicing helps prevent faults before they become disruptive.
Our servicing work includes:
- Battery testing
- Rail inspections
- Safety sensor checks
- Mechanical servicing
- Electrical diagnostics
If a breakdown occurs, we aim to respond quickly throughout the BA6 area.
