Local Stairlift Installation Across Clevedon & North Somerset
There is a certain rhythm to life in Clevedon.
Mornings along Marine Parade. The Victorian pier stretching into the Severn Estuary. Independent cafés around Hill Road. Quiet residential roads climbing up toward Upper Clevedon and Walton Park. It is a town where many people choose to settle for the long term.
And for homeowners who have spent years – sometimes decades – in the same property, the idea of leaving because the stairs have become difficult can feel deeply upsetting. At Suttons Stairlifts, we help people across Clevedon continue living independently in the homes they already love.
We supply and install:
New stairlifts
Reconditioned stairlifts
Rental for straight stairlifts
Curved stairlifts
Straight stairlifts
Stairlift servicing and repairs
We are an independent company serving North Somerset with a strong focus on honest advice, reliable workmanship and personal customer care.
That approach is not accidental. Suttons Stairlifts was originally founded after Mark Sutton had an unpleasant experience with a national stairlift company while trying to arrange mobility support for his father. The aggressive sales approach felt completely wrong. So he built a company around doing the opposite.
On Mark’s retirement in 2022 he passed the reins of the company to his Chief Engineer, Max Spenn, who has continued to build the business. With Max in the driving seat the business is scaling new heights, never losing sight of its ethos of honesty, reliability and integrity.
No pressure. No hard sell. No confusing jargon. Just practical mobility solutions delivered by local people who genuinely care.

We also work across surrounding areas including:

Many homes across Clevedon were built long before accessibility became a design consideration.
That means staircases often include:
Tight corners
Steeper gradients
Narrow widths
Split landings
Awkward turns
Every staircase requires careful planning. That is why all installations begin with a detailed home survey.
Helping People Stay In The Homes They Love
One of the hardest parts of reduced mobility is the gradual loss of confidence inside the home.
People begin adapting quietly. Trips upstairs become less frequent. Bedrooms start feeling further away. Carrying everyday items feels riskier. Family members notice too.
A stairlift restores more than access between floors. It restores reassurance.
For many customers across Clevedon, that means:
Sleeping comfortably in their own bedroom again
Using the upstairs bathroom safely
Reducing fear of falls
Remaining independent longer
Avoiding major upheaval or relocation
Sometimes the practical impact is immediate. Sometimes the emotional relief is even bigger.
Straight Stairlifts in Clevedon
Straight stairlifts are ideal for staircases without bends or directional changes.
These systems are popular because they are:
- Compact
- Smooth in operation
- Reliable
- Easy to use
- Quick to install
Features include:
- Fold-away seats
- Safety sensors
- Battery-powered operation
- Swivel seating
- Ergonomic controls
Battery-powered operation allows the stairlift to continue working during a power cut.
That provides important reassurance, especially for older homeowners.
Curved Stairlifts For Complex Staircases
Many older Clevedon properties require curved stairlift systems.
Curved stairlifts are custom-built around the staircase dimensions to create safe movement around:
- Tight corners
- Half-landings
- Multi-level staircases
- Directional changes
Every rail is manufactured specifically for the property.
Homes around Walton Park, older parts of Hill Road and period coastal properties often require this type of installation.
