Our good reputation is built on trust, therefore we will be with you as quickly as possible in the unlikely event that your stairlift malfunctions or develops a fault.
Stairlifts that are regularly serviced and checked by our trained technicians will seldom let you down, but if something goes wrong our stairlift repair team are on hand to get you moving again.
Our stairlifts are covered by a 24 month parts and labour warranty, which we are pleased to honour if needed. We repair stairlifts across a wide area – Somerset, Wiltshire (including Bristol and Bath) and in Devon down to Plymouth and The South Hams.
We’ve found that very often the cause of a problem with your stairlift is simple to resolve and we can talk you through it in a phone call. If this is not possible we’ll have one of our engineers visit you as soon as possible no matter where you live.
Stairlifts are mechanical devices and therefore malfunction on occasion due to worn or displaced components. We can easily fix most mechanical problems, but before you call to report a fault try your own troubleshooting checks to save time.
If your stairlift isn’t operating check to make sure all the power switches are turned on, the key is in the “on” position, and the emergency stop (red) button has not been activated.
If you hear an audible warning or error codes are displayed this could be to indicate that the battery is not charging, either because it is not parked correctly or the power supply is switched off.
If your stairlift halts on the way up or down the stairs there could be an obstruction on the rail or stairs, causing sensors to trigger which stop the chair. Gentle movement of the safety edge and removal of the obstruction should get it working again.
If the speed at which your stairlift travels has dropped markedly this could indicate that new batteries are required.
Firstly, try inserting two new AA batteries. If this doesn’t revive your remote then it is likely the controller may have lost synchronicity with the machine, and our engineer will need to re-sync the remotes.
If you can’t resolve your stairlift problem after making these basic checks, get in touch with us for some professional help.
As the owner of a stairlift it is very wise to familiarise yourself with the owner’s manual and take note of any important maintenance advice to help keep your stairlift in tip-top working order. You can also call our experts any time for advice and information about the operation and maintenance of your stairlift.
Your manual will also explain the meaning of any error codes which may show on your stair lift, to help with diagnosing any problems.
If you have mobility problems and are home alone we recommend that you carry a mobile phone when using your stairlift, so you can call for assistance in the unlikely event that your stairlift won’t start.
We pride ourselves on a “no-pressure”, professional service. Contact us today for more information and to arrange a FREE no obligation quote!
